The place where the castle sits, was first an Ibero Castro, then a Roman fortress and later a Muslim fortress. Enemies, the latter, for which Sancho III the Great, decided to lift the Castle in the eleventh century, as its territory reached to the neighboring municipality of Bolea.

The people of Loarre born when in the sixteenth century castle lost its defensive importance and its inhabitants down to the plains to settle for it using stones from the castle, it is likely that the inn was built with some of these stones.

The Hospedería is located in a former sixteenth century palace completely renovated for its current use. Its architecture combines the Aragonese Renaissance, baroque and neoclassical.

For many years was used as town hall, school and Master's house.
